Power places in Ticino - 7 rituals to find your own power place

Kraftorte im Tessin - 7 Rituale um deinen eigenen Kraftort zu finden - Babyduft®

Do these legendary power places really exist? Ever since I've been living here in Ticino, this topic has preoccupied me, as I feel like I've never lived somewhere where I've sensed so many power places . And I've already lived in a few places on this earth, from India to China to the Middle East. Of course, there's a certain magic everywhere, and places you love, and would love to absorb this energy and preserve it forever, but Ticino has some very special energy-giving spots. I'd like to share a few of them with you here (a few will remain secret :-) and show you how to find your own power place.

Places of power far away or rather close by

Places of power have one thing in common: whether you believe in magic or not, they are beautiful to look at and popular tourist destinations. Ayers Rock in Australia , Stonehenge , and the Pyramids of Giza are among the most famous places of power in the world. To be honest, I'm not sure I'd be able to find my inner center in a place where so many tourists flock to take a selfie. For me, a place of power is something that makes everyday life fade away and helps me find peace.

Your place of power and how it can inspire you

A place of power is associated with a distinctive appearance and, more importantly, a special energy . When you enter a place of power, something feels different, almost as if you were crossing an invisible threshold. A wonderful sense of calm flows through you. Perhaps you feel butterflies in your stomach , you get goosebumps , or tears well up in your eyes and you don't quite know why. You have arrived without knowing where. You feel connected to Mother Earth, to the universe, to yourself.

Do you think that you do not have enough sensitivity to perceive the life energy that is supposed to concentrate in these places?

For a long time, I felt like I wasn't really that sensitive. To better understand, feel, and utilize the energy of the power spot, small gestures and rituals helped me. Here are a few rituals for you:

7 rituals to feel your power place

Rest, relaxation, clarity, strength, health, power, or confidence – there are many reasons why you should seek out places of power. If you approach them without great expectations, you will experience these magical places with all your senses and absorb their energies.

The following rituals can help you make the most of your power place.

1. The journey is the destination

Use the walk to your power place to slowly tune into the energy of the place.
You'll see: With every step, you'll leave your everyday life farther behind. The longer you walk, the slower your pace will automatically become. The breaks you take to look around and consciously perceive your surroundings will become longer and more frequent.

Look around, don't rush from one place to another. It's not a competition to find the best place to recharge, but rather the one that gives you the most energy.

2. Experience the environment with all your senses

Once you've reached your power spot, consciously activate your senses : Observe your surroundings, breathe consciously, listen carefully, and feel the ground. Follow your seventh sense: your intuition. Your gut feeling will know exactly what's good for you at this moment. Open your heart and try to feel your power spot with your heart.

For me, a place of power is usually associated with water, because I love the element. Jumping into the cold pool of the Maggia River takes some courage, but afterward, I feel a tingling sensation throughout my body that makes me feel so awake and alive, simply indescribable. You don't have to jump in right away; just putting your feet on the cool stones or dipping them into the cold water will create a connection.

3. Enjoy the power of breath and meditation

Conscious breathing , meditation and visualization make it easier to connect with your power place.

The following exercise will help:

  • Make yourself comfortable and sit on the floor with your spine as straight as possible.
  • Don't push anything away; let everything be as it is. Then focus on your breathing : Enjoy full, deep breaths that open your chest and make your heart completely wide. There's nothing left now except you and your breathing. All you have to do is relax into this feeling.
  • Imagine your spine growing longer and anchoring yourself in the earth. Your mind will slowly calm down.
  • Imagining positive images can deepen the effect of letting go.

You won't reach the state of emptiness of thought the first time, so don't stress.

    4. Wash away fears and worries through ritual cleansing

Water has a very special power. Pause for a moment and dip your hands, face , or feet into the water, or simply jump into the cold water. Symbolically wash away your everyday life and all negative thoughts and feelings. Feel the cleansing and energizing effect of the water. You will immediately feel lighter, stronger, and clearer.

    5. Dissolve negative energies into smoke

Smoking is one of the oldest rituals in the world. It's no wonder, since smoke purifies and eliminates
    negative energies.

The best way to smoke is to use a clay bowl with a piece of charcoal .

    • Light the coal and wait until it no longer smokes but glows
    • Now place the incense material on top
    • Rosemary, white sage, bay leaves , and frankincense are particularly good for burning incense . Perhaps you'll also find resin in your search for a place of power.
    • Or you can take a bundle of herbs, like we did here with sage, and light it.
    • Burning incense at your place of power can further enhance the energy, or you can take herbs or resin home with you to remind you of it.

      6. Create a natural mandala

The complex, repeating geometric patterns mysteriously give us
a sense of security, order, and safety. They reflect the state we instinctively and subconsciously strive for in life. The therapeutic effect of mandalas has even been scientifically proven.

A mandala concentrates the psychic energy on the self and mediates between opposing psychic poles, psychotherapist Carl Gustav Jung Feel the healing energy of the magical circles and create your very own personal mandala with stones, flowers or leaves.

      7. Giving as a gesture of thanks

Small gestures of gratitude – a flower, a particularly beautiful leaf, a specially shaped
pebble or a small cairn – open the heart and create a connection to the power place.

When you leave your place of power, give a gift and thank it with a gesture, words or thoughts for the new-found strength.

“Learn from the speed of nature: its secret is patience.” (Ralph Waldo Emerson) History of the Valle Vercasca: The original rock of the Verzasca is granite, formed around 450 million years ago from magma (molten rock) that penetrated from the Earth's mantle into the Earth's crust and slowly cooled.

I hope I've inspired you to listen a little more closely. In my opinion, a place of power is something very individual. For some, the sea gives them strength, while others find their weightlessness on high peaks. Feel free to share your place of power with us once you've found your MAGIC PLACE. There's still so much to discover in this world. Below, you'll find a few more magical places we love in our home region of Ticino.

      Sincerely yours,

      Ursula
